Our first Nester Award and in our first year after chartering in 2018!

Pee Dee Pikes received our seventh consecutive Nester Award and was again selected as a winner of the “Alumni Association of the Year” at the Tillar Academy in 2025 (#6 was at the Oklahoma City Convention in 2024). The award is presented to recognize the outstanding alumni associations in the fraternity. We have won this award each year since being chartered on March 1, 2018 on the 150th anniversary of the Founding of Pi Kappa Alpha. We are especially honored to win this award. Our goal remains the same - to do our best to actively support local undergraduate chapters and to “ … further the interests of those with whom we sympathize and deem worthy of our regard …”.

We have again submitted the nomination award package for 2025-2026; we’ll find out in Las Vegas in July, 2026. Our accomplishments include:

  • Theta Delta chapter received the “Alumni Relations” award at the Pike U “CEC” (Chapter Executives Conference) in January 2026

  • Pee Dee Pikes and the ΘΔ Alumni Advisory Board partner closely together to provide major financial support for undergraduate programs and activities

  • Proactive and regular communications primarily using Zoom, Facebook and social media as well as regular email updates

  • Hosted International President Larry Eby as our guest speaker

  • Hosted new Palmetto Region president Bubba Britton as our guest speaker

  • Proactively participated in local community fundraising requests during local weather emergencies

  • Partnered with the ΘΔ chapter and the ΘΔ AAB to maintain an external, climate controlled storage unit following the chapter’s decision to give up its on-campus designated Greek Life Housing

  • Sponsored / hosted / participated in several alumni social events, including the annual golf tournament, an annual ΘΔ Reunion at Rabbit Slide as well as at local restaurants

We have applied for the award every year as an opportunity to both affirm our accomplishments and challenge ourselves for the future. In our first year, we significantly exceeded our own estimates in terms of membership, support for local chapters, financial targets as well as opportunities to both “give back” and “pay it forward”. Pee Dee Pikes is built on personal networking and using the same rush principles we learned as undergraduates. Our leaders live in different geographical areas and are also of different ages. We use this to highlight a diverse group of chapter and alumni activities throughout the year. Our Executive Board meets as needed to evaluate our strategic plans. We continue to network with other Pike alumni associations and stay connected through social media. Our fundamental concept for the future is simple, “Once A Pike, Always A Pike”.

With over 10 members of Pee Dee Pikes Alumni Association attending the Richmond Convention in July 2018 to celebrate receiving our charter, we continue to actively participate in Pike U events alongside our undergraduate brothers. In February 2026, three alumni attended the Atlanta Regional Leadership Summit and we expect to have 5-6 alumni attending the Las Vegas Convention.
